In the Pylons of Set it was not uncommon for people to practice a Magickal system out of their favorite Science Fiction/Fantasy books.

Alexander the Great wrote in a letter to his wife that he had discovered a great secret: that the gods were once Men.

It is not uncommon for modern magicians to create sevitors from scratch.

The Golden Dawn in the chapters on Talisman creation give instructions on how to craft a thought form or the Astral double of the Talisman by combining qualities of letters and numbers through their elemental and Planetary correspondences.

Furthermore in your practice and application of Magick you will attract previously uncataloged spirits.

It's your path, what you allow or do not allow yourself to think is your only limit.  As far as I can tell, there is no limit.

You have to find out for yourself by applying the Magick yourself.  So I am saying that only you are qualified to answer your questions.

Among the various Magickal Arenas we share a lexicon of agreed upon terms. More than anyone else we understand and utilize the impact of language.   We see how language is used to control the masses and how it can be crafted to make people think that their thoughts are their own instead of the propaganda from the programing that they accepted.  We reject the program and struggle to excavate our individual (not group) authentic experience.

All in all the Individuals who walk their own path are pushing the envelope so hard that they might overlook something right under their nose.

The most interesting question people ask when discussing the identity of a spirit is whether it is an egregore or not. 

We ask this question essentially to determine its authenticity.  As in whether it is a thought-form generated by humans or possibly an entity that pre-exists humanity. As in whether it is a created or uncreated being.

Who is the creator in that scenario?

We give life with our thoughts like Zues gave life to Athena when she sprung from his head.

Egregor comes from the Italian Grigori which means Watcher and refers to a classification of Angel that we created.  The Latin Angelos has an entirely different meaning than the Hebrew word for Angel which means the Shadow of God. 

The implication of how we use the word Egregor is that you are a Creator so powerful that you can give life with your thoughts.  With your thoughts like in the Hermeticum where everything is described as thoughts in the mind of God. 

This is such an accepted axiom of Magick that we use it to charge talismans, concecrate tools and create change in accordance with our will. 

So just a reminder my friends, you are a God and You Know it.

Left Hand Path

The term left hand path is used and misused by various people to fulfill various agendas.  We have to put ideas into words that more often than not inaccurately convey the idea that we are trying to communicate.  

To me the Western Left Hand Path is self defined by the individual for purposes set by the individual.  As a social term it is useful to identify people who also think outside the box.  Although this can be problematic because people tend to build a new box and try to drag other people into their boxes. 

My personal definition of the LHP is never building a new box.

The hardest path is learning to think for yourself which means having to educate yourself so that you can actually form your own opinion.

You are free to learn everything about any box that you want to learn about just don't get stuck.

So for me the paradox is that I don't fit into a prepackaged definition of the term Left Hand Path that in itself is my definition of the LHP.

It is a lot of hard work but it is a hundred percent worth it.

Like the Tunnels of Set are not tunnels at all the Left Hand Path is no path at all.

Praxis

It takes 40 days to create a new habit or break a habit.  This is an axiom of Yoga.  I have always applied certain Yoga principles to my Magickal and Meditation Practice.

Mantra Yoga is the art of tuning in to a specific Resonance/ Current through sympathetic vibration.  This alchemy process causes changes in your vibration.

Change in your vibration causes changes your life.  Because of the physical nature of the overall Alchemical Transformation I factored in a general rule of fitness from my workouts.  To get the optimal physical affect out of your workouts you have to practice a technique for at least twenty minutes. 

So I designed my own 20 minute/ 40 day Alchemy Practice in 2005 after reading a Kundalini Yoga book. 

The great thing about Yoga is that it is a collection of Techniques.  It is not a dogma or caught up in dualism.  The techniques can be plugged in and used to augment any Magickal System or Practice. 

Even within the Yogic Practices, the 20/40 Alchemy technique can be applied to Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Hatha Yoga.  The permutations of systems that can can be optimized through the clear understanding and implementation of Yogic Techniques are limitless. 

You have to understand that the Yoga techniques taught in the west are usually focused on the Asana.  The Asana is the kindergarten of Yoga techniques intended to train your body to not distract you from Your Path.

I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Yoga at the same time in my life when I was receiving Magickal Training in my first Coven in 1986.  At the time though I didn't realize how important it was that I learn both.  

A rose by another name is still a rose.  But if one rose is a puzzle with missing pieces or muddled twisted descriptions and the other is unbroken then one can be used as a key to unlock the other. 

When I was studying Etruscan Witchcraft, the more I learned the more excited I got.   I learned that there may have been an unbroken line of a Witchcraft Tradition that survived the inquisition in the shadow of the Vatican.  But see that is the problem, isn't it?  All of the Magickal Traditions being taught and all of the Grimoires are all puzzles with missing pieces.  Wouldn't it be nice if there was a science that could be used to objectively activate and utilize any system?  Damn that would be awesome.

Disclaimer: applying the 20/40 Alchemy technique causes actual changes which can manifest catastrophically so be sure to choose the Mantra carefully so that the changes will be aligned with your Path of Ascent.

I started my Yoga Journey in Fresno California with Violet Fulton in 1987.

When I talk about Yoga most people misunderstand because for the westerner the only marketable form of Yoga is focusing on the Asana.

Hatha Yoga in the East is considered the Kindergarten of Yoga because it is the foundation or cornerstone that supports the whole edifice of the Temple.

If you practice any kind of Spirituality or Magic (practice not just believe in) then you already are practicing all eight of these in varying degrees of proportion.

Yoga is a collection of techniques and not beliefs.  They are ways of harnessing each of your energetic aspects into one focal point, you. 

What ever Spiritual Path you walk Yoga Practice can and will help you to consciously refine and perfect your practice.

I was Initiated into the Coven of the Golden Ram during the first year that I began my Yoga Journey.  Early on I saw parralels in the two disciplines so it made sense to me to apply yoga techniques to my Magickal practice.  Sometimes to fill in the blanks or sort out the blinds when studying and working with various Grimoires.  

This proved to be very beneficial for me and allowed me to incorporate various Yoga techniques into my daily Magickal practice.  I definitely recommend practitioners look into the Eightfold Path of Yoga if you want to optimize your own Spiritual Practice.

Genius

The thing about genius is that it often gets misunderstood, especially in the Magical community of writers.

You see, real inspiration and true genius bubbles over,  running down the sides of the cauldron, spilling over the ordinary banal rules of grammar.  And sometimes a misspelled word or violations of grammars parameters is a direct message from the Higher Self or Spirits.

I see it ever so often that one tome or another is overlooked because of the total disregard for syntax, spelling or punctuation.  Sometimes editors will even tell horror stories of such submissions. 

If your brain can't sort out a run on sentence then perhaps your brain is on autopilot.

Some of the most exciting books I've ever read and that are equally potent when put into practice, are not popular books.

Not because I'm "edgy" but because I love learning and pushing the envelope of Self Discovery.  

So next time you get excited about a Grimoire and the nay sayers try to steer you away or distract you: remember that true genius breaks the rules and is rarely recognized by its contemporaries.

Well then, that makes a lot more sense. In relation to the art of manifestation that makes a lot of sense.

It describes why counter creation works as a method of manifestation. That is why you first have to counter the Creation of Ahura Mazda before you can manifest your will.
